To collect a photographic record of our centenary, we will be using Flickr, an online resource used by Girlguiding UK.

We would like all our units to submit at least one photo, as a record of their activities during the centenary! There is no need for fancy cameras, photos or videos from mobile phones are just as welcome!

Follow the steps below to be part of this great archive of our memories! It does look a bit complicated (but I promise that it isn’t!), if you can’t upload your own photos, perhaps approach another leader to help, or approach the county office for advice.

How to join Flickr

In order to join Flickr you need to create a Yahoo! ID.

If you already have a Yahoo! ID proceed straight to stage 2.

The Step by step guide to Flickr shows images to help you along the process.

Stage 1

Creating a Yahoo! ID

Go to the Flickr home page (http://www.flickr.com/) and click the pink ‘create your account’ button.
  1. You will be asked you if you have a Yahoo! ID – click on the ‘sign up’ link
  2. Create Your Yahoo! ID by entering the required information.
  3. Select your birthday from the drop-down box.
  4. Type your postcode and your alternate email into the spaces provided.
Your alternate email is so Yahoo! can verify your new email.
