Unit Helpers
A Unit Helper is a man or women aged between 18 and 65 who helps regularly at Unit meetings and possibly at other events. He/she does not wear a uniform or undertake the Leadership Qualification, although training opportunities in Cambridgeshire West are often open to Unit Helpers as well as to Guiders. Affiliate Members
An affiliate member is a man or woman aged over 18 who wants to be recognised as a member of Girlguiding UK but who is not a Guider or Commissioner. He/she registers with a Unit, District, Division or the County; pays the annual membership subscription; receives a membership card and may wear an affiliate member’s badge; and will be sent a copy of “Guiding” magazine each month. Ambassadors
Guiding ambassadors are supporters who are positive about Guiding, aware of what Guiding offers to girls and young women today, and who are willing to promote Guiding in different arenas. They can be anyone from family members and friends to local business leaders to national celebrities – anyone with an opportunity to talk with others about the benefits of Guiding. Ambassadors may be linked to a Unit, District, Division or the County, and receive a special badge and a small card giving useful information about Girlguiding UK.
